A New Minnesota Classic Takes Home a MN PRSA Classics Award
Written by Jeron on April 27, 2017
Last Thursday SCG celebrated in style with the rest of the Minnesota public relations community at the 2017 MN PRSA Classics Awards banquet. The event recognizes the best public relations and branding work conducted during the prior year by the very talented and competitive communications industry here in the Twin Cities.
There are two categories of MN Classics awards: Elements and Programs. Elements focus on individual components or tactics and has 11 sub-categories such as special purpose publications, digital execution, brand research and insights, etc. Programs are for the best overall public relations campaigns, with 15 sub-categories ranging from community relations, creative social campaign, industry campaign of the year, etc.
We were proud that our work to help 19th Hole Ventures launch Bootleg won a MN Classics award in the Programs category for Marketing Products – Less Than 25 Employees and was also named a finalist for the B2C Campaign of the Year. If you’re not familiar with Bootleg, it’s a specialty malt beverage that combines lemon, lime and mint to provide a refreshing taste experience. As we like to say, it’s like smuggling summer in bottle.
Bootleg officially launched in 2016. By distilling research and applying uncommon creativity, SCG created an integrated campaign that included key messaging, custom labels and packaging, website, social media outreach and radio advertising. Since its launch, Bootleg has become available in more than 300 stores and has attracted interest from distributors, store owners, consumers and investors with distinctive branding and an unusually good taste. Since winning the award, Bootleg will now be available in two legendary Lake Minnetonka restaurants: CōV and Lord Fletchers.
SCG was a finalist for seven awards, including the highly coveted B2B Industry Campaign of the Year and B2C Industry Campaign of the Year. After some tense moments as the winners were announced, we were proud to take home three MN Classics Program awards.
The most important criterion for winning an award is achieving measurable results, which we take great pride in delivering. We would like to thank all of our clients for the trust they place in us to execute strategic communications on their behalf.
