That’s why 19thHole Ventures engaged SCG to help launch their Bootleg brand in the premium alcoholic malt beverage space. 19th Hole Ventures engaged SCG to create brand identity and multi-channel advertising strategy for the launch of Bootleg, a malt beverage based on the classic Prohibition-era cocktail. SCG distilled research and applied uncommon creativity to attract interest from distributors and consumers to help Bootleg stand out in the in a uber-competitive and highly regulated industry with distinctive messaging and design.


SCG created a Prohibition-inspired visual and brand identity, including logos and commissioned artwork from noted posted artist DWITT, to convey the brand slogan “Minnesota’s Signature Drink.” This was supported by a multi-channel advertising strategy that included product photography for online, billboard, and print advertising; a partnership for radio spots and on-site appearances with Cory Cove of the KFAN’s Power Trip Morning Show; and presence at many public and industry events.


Due to our advertising, Bootleg achieved greater consumer awareness, distribution and sales throughout the State. High-impact radio advertising on the nation’s leading sports talk station was reinforced by strategic, high-traffic billboards and appearances at events Minnesota Golf Show local radio KDWB host Falen’s Book Club. In addition, online and print campaigns with local alt-weekly City Pages and enthusiast craft beer magazine The Growler added interest.
