Need a new ride? You could win a brand new car with Chevrolet’s Game Time app while watching the Super Bowl. When the game begins on February 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET, the app will assign users a personal “license” plate number. If your license plate matches the plate number on one of the 20 cars featured in the four Chevrolet Super Bowl spots, you’ll win the Chevy it’s on. The app also poses trivia questions throughout the game for chances to win other prizes. A free car is certainly an initiative to watch those Chevy ads closely!

Pinterest is now mobile! Never heard of Pinterest? Then you’re in for a treat. Think of Pinterest as a digital bulletin board that lets you “pin” your favorite images, recipes, crafting inspirations, travel destinations and much more. It’s a simple way to organize and share discoveries on the web. Users can collect inspiration for home decorating, save pictures and articles for an approaching holiday event, plan weddings, or gather recipes in a single place using visual cues. Thanks to the Pinterest app, Pinteresters have the same browsing and repinning capabilities on the go. The mobile app also makes it easy to take a picture directly from an iOS device and pin it to one of your pinboards to share with friends.
With winter comes falling temperatures, harsh and blustery winds, and cold heaps of snow. If you’re from the Midwest—or any place that experiences snowy winters—you know that driving in this season’s weather can be tricky and, at times, dangerous. That’s why North Dakota State University developed the Winter Survival Kit for drivers stranded in blizzard conditions. If you find yourself stuck in severe winter weather, this app will determine your geographic location and contact emergency services. A gas calculator even estimates how long you can run your engine on your remaining fuel to stay warm. Drivers can also enable an alert with reminders to periodically turn off the engine and inspect the exhaust pipe for snow buildup—a vital step to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. In addition, the Winter Survival Kit app gives helpful tips for putting together a physical winter survival kit and preparing your vehicle for winter driving. Drive safe this winter!
