Creative Juicer
Q: What is one creative trophy, ribbon or award you have won?
A: I was given the Posture Award in the 1st grade. While this was not bestowed for creativity on my part, the teacher was quite creative in coming up with this new award category — just for me — to help me feel part of the class since I was a mid-year transfer student. Thanks Mrs. Wolk! (RIP).
Q: Name something creativity-related that people might not know about you.
A: I’m almost a 50-50 split between being right brained and left brained. Sometimes my creative half spars with my analytical half, but the end result is best when I get them to play nicely together.
Knowledge Seeker
Q: Besides marketing and brand building, what are you passionate about?
A: Writing. Coming up with a good turn of phrase, sharing knowledge through convincing copy or reading especially well-crafted writing by others.
Q: What book, movie or podcast have you seen or heard recently you would recommend and why?
A: If you’re an animal lover or just appreciative of well-written insights about family, animals and life, pick up New York Times bestseller Bad Dogs Have More Fun by John Grogan (author of “Marley and Me”). Colleague Trevor, my Secret Santa last Christmas season, stealthily deposited this collection of Grogan’s columns from the Philadelphia Enquirer into my stocking. It’s funny, astute and well-written…a perfect pick-me-up!
Productive Partner
Q: If you had been the recent Powerball winner of $229 million, what is the first gift you'd give someone?
A: Having bought 10 tries at that whopping Powerball jackpot, I got a rush when I heard the next morning the winner was from Minnesota. The first thing I envisioned doing was buying a new car for my summer landscape helper, Jake. He worked tirelessly all summer to earn money for college and his car broke down right at the end of the season, draining much of his kitty.
Q: Name something you've done that your co-workers probably haven't?
A: I was a cheerleader. I cheered for our junior high basketball team as well as football and basketball teams throughout high school. Want proof? Here’s me in the stands freshman year in high school, complete with uniform, Farrah hair and a bug in my cup (I think). Gotta love the ‘80s!
